Hobson RV Service

Hobson RV Service is an RV repair shop based in Elkhart, Indiana. You bring the RV to its location at 25250 County Road 4, where it works as an authorized RV appliance sales and service center, with a technician on site.

It specializes in RV appliances rather than the whole rig: refrigerators, furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, awnings, stoves, fans and vents. It is a certified service technician for Dometic, Norcold, Suburban, Atwood, A&E Awnings and Coleman, and it also sells the parts for these brands, including hard-to-find items by inquiry. If your fridge or furnace is a name-brand unit and the part is the problem, this is the kind of shop built around chasing that part down.

No trip fee, hourly rate or diagnostic fee is published, so ask about cost when you call. Hobson RV Service has been at this for 30 years and counting, and its own line on the work is "If I can't fix it, junk it," which says something about how it handles a stubborn repair before giving up on it. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 5pm for the parts store, with service work by appointment, and Saturday also by appointment. Sunday it is closed. It is a small operation, so a call that goes to voicemail is worth a follow-up message.

Google rates it 4.7 stars from 46 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner near Elkhart with a failing name-brand appliance, rather than a structural or chassis problem, who wants a shop that specializes in that part and can also sell it to you.
