M & J Truck And Auto

M & J Truck And Auto is a full service truck and auto repair shop based in Madison, Wisconsin. You bring the RV to its shop at 2201 S Stoughton Rd rather than having a tech come to you, so plan on a visit or a tow if you cannot drive it in.

The shop works on travel trailers and motorhomes, covering water systems, generators, brakes, slide-outs, AC units, oil changes and general preventive maintenance. It also handles fifth wheels and RV winterizing. Because the same shop does auto, truck and fleet repair, it can take on a motorhome's chassis work and its house systems without sending you somewhere else for part of the job.

No trip fee or hourly rate is published on its site, so ask about pricing when you call. Hours run Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 11:30 pm, and the shop is closed Saturday. One review on its site describes calling in with a leaking brake line on an RV and having it towed in and finished the same night, ready the next morning, which shows the shop can turn around an urgent repair fast when a trip is on the line.

The shop has been family owned in Madison since 1982, more than 40 years, and its technicians are ASE certified. Google rates it 4.2 stars from 92 reviews.

This is a good fit for a Madison area owner who wants one shop to handle both the RV's chassis and its systems, or a traveler passing through who needs an RV repair done fast and is able to get the rig to the shop.
