Idle Wheels RV Center Inc.

Idle Wheels RV Center Inc. is an RV repair shop based in Placerville, California. You bring the RV to them: they say plainly that they are not mobile and that repairs are done in shop, by appointment only.

They work on travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes, horse trailers, boat trailers, food trucks and utility trailers, serving El Dorado County and the surrounding areas. They do not handle engine or chassis repairs, so this is the call for the systems and structure of the rig, not the drivetrain underneath it. If you need a mobile tech instead, they say they can point you toward a mobile repair recommendation.

No hourly rate, diagnostic fee or trip fee is published, so ask about pricing and appointment lead time when you call. They also run a stocked RV parts and accessories store, carrying hitches, fuses, lights, vents, awnings, toilets and more, so a part found during a repair does not mean a separate trip somewhere else.

Idle Wheels has been in El Dorado County since 1978, opened by Vern and Kathy Weldy and now run by their son Mark. Nearly five decades in one county is long enough to have seen most of what breaks on a trailer or motorhome. Google rates them 4.6 stars from 166 reviews.

This is a good fit for an RV owner in or near El Dorado County who can bring the rig in, needs a part along with the repair, or just needs a propane fill or tank recertified without an appointment.
