Ace RV Rentals

Ace RV Rentals is a rental, sales and service business based in Herndon, Virginia, a few miles from Dulles International Airport. It calls itself a "family-owned business" and says it has been in the RV business for "over a decade." It comes to you for "mobile or roadside RV service in Virginia," and you can also bring the RV to its service center at 2875 Towerview Road.

Its mobile work covers gas and electric water heaters and refrigerators, air conditioners, furnaces, water pumps, propane appliances, plumbing leaks, power steps, minor roof repairs, awning and slideout topper replacement, and entertainment system fixes. It does not list slide-out mechanisms, so if a slide-out will not move, ask about that before you book. It names no RV types or brands, and it does not state a service radius or say whether it comes to campgrounds, driveways or storage lots. Ask about each of these.

It publishes no trip fee, hourly rate or diagnostic fee, so ask about the trip fee when you call. It is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, and Saturday, 9:00am to 1:00pm. It lists Sunday as closed, with RV drop off available, so ask what that means for a Sunday drop off. For roadside trouble it offers "24/7 roadside assistance," and you should ask whether that comes with a trip fee. It does not state a warranty or a licensed and insured status, so ask about both.

It says its team includes "trained RVTI Certified technicians," but it does not name any of them. Ask which technicians hold the certification and whether one of them will come to you. The trip fee is what you pay just to get a tech to your rig, so settle that number first.

Google rates it 4.8 stars from 122 reviews in the RV repair shop category. This is a good fit for a traveler in Virginia or the DC region with a fridge, water heater, air conditioner or power step to fix, who can either wait for a mobile visit or bring the RV to Herndon. It also suits an owner who wants one business that rents, sells and repairs RVs, as long as the trip fee and the tech's name are settled before booking.
