Smiths Auto and Truck Service

Smiths Auto and Truck Service is a heavy-duty truck repair shop based in Fancy Gap, Virginia. Trucks are its main trade, and it also works on RVs. Its address says Fancy Gap, but its page titles name Mount Airy, North Carolina, so confirm where the shop sits before you drive out.

It works both ways. Its mobile service "will come to you, and make the repairs, or maintenance onsite." Its shop also takes RVs, in its own words: "We also have a full service shop for Heavy-Duty Truck Repair Services for large Commercial Trucks, RV’s, and Buses." Its listed systems include "RV Repairs," "A/C Service," "Electrical," "Batteries" and "Hydraulics." The pages give no RV-specific detail, no towns and no service radius, so ask whether a tech will come to your campground or driveway for an RV job.

No trip fee, hourly rate, diagnostic fee or RV price is published, so ask about the trip fee when you call. Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday by appointment. For after-hours trouble, it advertises "24 Hour Roadside Service, 7 days a week."

The shop has operated "Since 2018" and describes itself as "Locally Owned and Operated." Its mechanics "have over 60 years of experience between them." Google rates it 4.6 stars from 223 reviews. No license, insurance or warranty is named, so ask for proof of insurance before anyone works on your rig.

This is a good fit for an RV owner near Fancy Gap who needs a general repair, such as an A/C, electrical or battery problem, and will confirm the RV work and the trip fee before a tech arrives.
