RV SERVICE OF VA

RV Service of VA is a full-service RV repair shop based in Ashland, Virginia. You bring the RV to its shop for work; it does not run a general mobile fleet, though it makes free on-site repair calls for owners who store their motorhome at Watts RV & Boat Storage. In its own words, "We are a full service center, which means we work on everything including body repair, chassis work, appliance repair & replacement, municipalities/ government work, state inspections and more."

Work ranges from slide-out maintenance and repair, rubber roof upkeep, brakes and bearings, all electrical systems, awnings, LP repairs and winterization to Aqua-Hot, Truma, Oasis, Precision Temp, Dometic, Norcold, Suburban, Atwood, HWH and Thetford/Sealand appliance repair. It is a Class A inspection station (#5666) and serves the Richmond Metro area.

No hourly rate or trip fee is published, so ask about both when you call. Hours run Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with Saturday by appointment only. The shop has said its schedule is tight enough that same-day appointments are hard to come by, so an owner is better off calling ahead of a trip rather than the week of it.

The shop has been doing this work since 1984, more than 36 years, which it calls the longest run of any independent RV service provider in Central Virginia. It also says it is the only Aqua-Hot certified service facility in the Central Virginia area, worth knowing if that system is what needs fixing. Google rates it 4.3 stars from 134 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner near Richmond or Ashland who wants one shop that can handle a slide-out, an appliance and a state inspection in the same visit, and who can plan the repair ahead of a trip rather than needing it the same day.
