CHC Vans

CHC Vans is an upfitting and camper conversion shop based in Williston, Vermont. You bring the van to its shop at 74 Avenue B Suite 4, and it asks you to contact it before you come by. Google files it under RV repair shop, but it describes conversions and installs, and it does not state repair work on existing vans.

It does custom upfitting and camper conversion of "a variety of vehicles," with a particular focus on Mercedes Benz Sprinter Vans. It will "design and install easy-to-use electrical systems for camper vans," covering batteries, inverters, solar arrays, generators, shorepower and 12V and 120V wiring. It also installs air conditioning, heaters, heat pumps, vent fans, water pumps, fresh, gray and black water tanks, hot water heaters, refrigerators and awnings.

No service area is stated. It publishes no trip fee, hourly rate or per-job prices, so ask for a quote before you book. It works by appointment only, and its listed hours run Monday through Friday, 09:00-17:00.

CHC Vans puts its case on detail: "Details are everything. We go above and beyond to make sure it’s done right." It points to a "background in fine carpentry and metal work," and it shares a fabrication shop with its parent company, Cold Hollow Contracting. Its power work includes remote monitoring to show when batteries run low, which matters in a cold climate where battery output drops. No certifications, license, insurance or warranty is listed, so ask for those before you commit.

Google rates it 5 stars from 29 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner who wants a camper van built or wired for living and can plan an appointment in Williston, Vermont. It is not the place for a traveler with a dead fridge on the road.
