Gass Automotive

Gass Automotive is a heavy-duty truck and fleet repair shop based in Santa Fe, Texas, that also specializes in Tiffin Motorhomes repair and maintenance. It works both ways: you can bring the motorhome to its shop, or its mobile trucks will come to you to handle a breakdown on-site, which saves the cost and delay of a transport.

It services motorhomes and their systems, including HVAC, generators, tires and wheels, and runs state DOT inspections. It is an Onan Generator parts and service dealer, and also works on Cummins engines, Thermo King and Carrier units, and Red Diamond and Landoll equipment. It covers Galveston County, the Greater Houston area and the surrounding region.

No RV-specific prices are published, so ask about the trip fee and hourly rate when you call. What is published is the emergency line: Gass Automotive runs 24/7 service every day of the year, with several mobile trucks ready to dispatch. For a traveler with a dead AC unit or a generator down on a Friday night, that round-the-clock dispatch matters more than a posted price.

The shop has over 20 years of experience and states its drivers are fully bonded and meet local and international safety certifications. Its inspectors are DOT-certified, which carries weight for an annual motorhome inspection, not just a commercial fleet one.

Google rates it 3.8 stars from 131 reviews.

This is a good fit for a Tiffin owner in the Houston area who wants one shop that knows the chassis and the Onan generator, and who may also need a mobile truck to reach a motorhome stranded along the highway.
