Get to the top of the page

What you get

• Your listing moves to the top of every RV Service List page it's on: your town, the towns you serve, and your state.
• It's labelled Sponsored listing, so RV owners know it's an ad. That's the honest way, and it's why they trust the rest of the list.
• The top card shows your business, your phone and your service area. It doesn't show star ratings, so a couple of tough reviews won't keep you at the bottom of the page.
• If more than one business on a page sponsors, the sponsored ones are shown in Google rating order, best first, the same way the free list is ordered.
• It starts within a minute of paying. No contract. Stop any time and you go back to your usual spot at the end of the time you've paid for.
• It's advertising, so you can write it off.

How the top spot works

Every page is ordered by Google rating. If nobody on your page sponsors, the highest-rated shops sit on top and stay there.

The first business on a page to sponsor goes above everyone, even above the 5.0s, whatever its own rating. If a second business sponsors, the two of them are ordered by Google rating, and the free list follows. So a 4.1 that sponsors can sit above a 5.0 that doesn't, and the 5.0 can take the top back the same way.

Where this matters most is a busy town or a big service area, where a good shop can be fifth or sixth on the page through no fault of its own. If your page has two or three techs, you may not need it yet.

Climb the free way too

The free list moves on Google ratings, and we re-check them every month. Three things that move the needle:

• Ask every happy customer for a Google review before you leave the campsite, while the fix is fresh. A text with your review link works best.
• Reply to every review, good or bad. It shows the next reader you're still in business and still care.
• Get to 5 reviews. Fewer than 5 and Google's rating isn't reliable, so we list you after the ranked shops, A to Z, no matter how good the reviews are.
