Great Adventure RV Repair & Inspections is a mobile RV repair and inspection service that follows the seasons, based in the Black Hills of South Dakota for summer and Raleigh, North Carolina for winter. It comes to you, at a campground, RV park, storage lot or driveway, rather than asking you to bring the rig anywhere.
In the Black Hills it covers Rapid City, Custer, Hill City, Hot Springs, Keystone, Sturgis, Deadwood and Spearfish. Around Raleigh it covers Goldsboro, Fayetteville, Chapel Hill, Durham, Greenville and Rocky Mount. It handles air conditioners, plumbing and water heaters, electrical and generators, winterizing and de-winterizing, furnaces, slide-outs and leveling, tank cleaning, appliances, roof repairs, water damage, propane systems, batteries and charging, awnings, and door and window seals, with specific work on Lippert and Schwintek slide systems.
No hourly rate or trip fee is published, so ask about both when you call. Seasonal service runs May through October, and hours are listed as Monday through Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 9am to 6pm. For tank cleaning, you need to be at a site with shore power, water and sewer hookups, since the work is done on site with a hydro jet running between 1,500 and 2,000 psi.
Owner Joel Kingsbury is an NRVIA certified inspector and technician, affiliated with NRVTA, and is fully insured. An NRVIA inspection matters most before buying or selling a used rig, since it is a documented look at the roof, plumbing, electrical and chassis before money changes hands. The inspection includes "over 200 photos/videos and notes covering every key system and component," delivered within 24 hours.
This is a good fit for an RV owner in the Black Hills or Raleigh area who wants a pre-purchase inspection done at the seller's lot, or a traveler who needs a slide-out, furnace or A/C fixed without leaving the campsite.
