Haydu Family Auto-Mobile Mechanic

Haydu Family Auto-Mobile Mechanic is a mobile mechanic based in Rapid City, South Dakota, that also works on RVs. It comes to you, wherever you are parked, and says "we are just like a shop, except we come to you."

It works on engines, brakes, suspension, batteries, oil changes and belt replacements, and lists RV repair and maintenance alongside its truck and trailer work. That mix matters if you are also towing or driving a tow vehicle, since the same visit can cover the rig and the chassis pulling it. It covers Rapid City and the surrounding areas.

No trip fee or hourly rate is published, so ask about that when you call, along with whether it can reach your campsite or driveway. It does list 24/7 emergency roadside assistance to get a stranded rig back on the road.

Owner Joseph Haydu has over 20 years of experience in automotive repair and runs the business as a family operation, which he describes as "honest mobile mechanic with your best interest at heart." A mechanic who comes to the rig instead of making you drive it in matters most when something like a brake or suspension issue makes towing the safer call anyway.

Google rates it 4.9 stars from 110 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner in or around Rapid City who needs chassis level work done on an RV, whether that is brakes, suspension, a battery or routine maintenance, and would rather have a mechanic come to the storage lot or driveway than arrange a tow.
