D&G Custom Conversions

D&G Custom Conversions is a family-owned RV and camper repair and renovation shop based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, at 99 W Main Street. You bring the RV to its shop. It does not state whether it comes to a campground or driveway, so ask when you call.

It works on awnings, brakes, tires, slide-out floors, roofs, slide toppers, wheel bearings, winterizing and de-winterizing, and appliance checks on water heaters, AC units, furnaces, propane, water and electrical systems. It also does welding and fabrication, cabinetry, flooring and PA State Inspections. It covers RVs and campers, living quarters trailers, toy haulers and pull-behind trailers. Inspections are for pull-behind trailers only: "We do not do class A-C motorhome Inspections."

No hourly rate, trip fee or job prices are published, so ask for an estimate when you call. Hours run Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, with Sunday closed. Saturday is marked "Closed Until March on Saturday's," and Wednesday hours differ between listings, so confirm before you drive over. No after-hours or emergency service is stated.

It describes its crew as "certified technicians" but names no certification, so ask which ones apply and whether the shop is licensed and insured, since neither is stated. No warranty is listed. Google rates it 4.6 from 76 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner who can bring the rig to Carlisle and wants a renovation, roof work, a slide topper or winterizing, and who wants an estimate before the work starts. It is a weaker fit for a traveler who needs someone to come to a campsite.
