Madras Marine

Madras Marine is a boat dealership based in Madras, Oregon, and boats are most of what it sells. It also services towable RVs at its shop there, so you bring the rig to it. "Established in 1954, Madras Marine is family owned and operated."

The RV work covers travel trailers, fifth wheels, park trailers and truck campers. It lists unit winterization and de-winterization, roof and caulking inspection and maintenance, appliance service repair, brake adjustments, collision repair and restoration, year-round outdoor storage, and repair from water intrusion. Motorhomes are not on its list. You do not have to buy an RV from it to use the service, and even without a warranty, "we'll work with you and your budget to make sure your rig is up-to-date and safe to use."

It publishes no RV prices, hourly rate or trip fee, and no Oregon service hours. Ask what the job will cost and when the shop is open before you haul the rig in. Service requests can go through its online form, or you can call 541-475-2476.

No RV technician certifications are named, but it says its "service technicians have years of industry experience." If you buy a new unit there, "any warranty work your unit requires will be done in a timely manner," and it also sells extended service contracts. Its "exclusive 105-point inspection" applies only to campers bought from it, so it does not cover a rig you bought somewhere else. Google rates it 4.8 stars from 47 reviews, and lists it as an RV repair shop.

This is a good fit for an owner in Madras, or one who can drive the rig there, with a travel trailer, fifth wheel, park trailer or truck camper that needs winterizing, a roof check or an appliance repair. It is a weaker fit for a motorhome owner, or for anyone who needs a price or hours before the call.
