Dakota Recreation Repair

Dakota Recreation Repair is a body and roof repair shop based in Bismarck, North Dakota. It is a shop you bring the RV to, not a mobile outfit, so plan on getting the rig to the 20th Street location for work.

It works on campers and RVs, handling rubber roof repair and replacement, hail damage, leaking windows and air conditioning replacement, along with fiberglass repairs, gouges, aluminum siding, awnings, fenderskirts, entry doors, jacks and decal or graphic replacement. It also does collision repair and storm damage work and accepts all major insurance companies, which matters if a hailstorm or a fender bender is what brought you in rather than routine wear.

No hourly rate or diagnostic fee is published, so ask about pricing when you call to set up a repair. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm and closed weekends.

The shop has been doing this work for over 16 years. Cody Dachtler bought the business, previously known as Duane's Camper and Boat Repair, in 2021 after working there for 24 years, so the crew behind the counter has long experience with the same kind of repairs. The shop also does warranty work and says, "We specialize in bringing your camper or RV to the condition you expect." Google rates it 4.8 stars from 50 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner in the Bismarck area dealing with a damaged roof, hail dents, a leaking window or a collision repair, especially if an insurance claim is part of the job and the rig can be driven or towed to a shop.
