RV Lawn & Sport, Inc.

RV Lawn & Sport, Inc. is a small-engine and outdoor power equipment business based at 8950 Turin Road (Route 26) in Rome, New York, between Rome, Boonville and Camden. Its main work is lawnmowers, snowblowers and chain saws. It also takes campers and motor homes, and says it offers "Parts and Service all makes of Campers and Motor Homes." The phone is (315) 337-9760.

Its listed RV work is camping trailers and motor homes, all makes and models, and its generator work covers all makes except Westinghouse. It also orders parts for campers and motor homes. Wendy Higley will look up and order a part it does not have in stock. It names no slide-out, air conditioner, refrigerator or roof work, so ask directly whether it handles those on your rig. It does not say whether it comes to your campsite or driveway, so ask that too.

No RV labor rate or trip fee is published, so ask about the trip fee when you call and before you commit to anything. Store hours are Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM, Saturday 9AM to Noon, and Sunday closed. It states no after-hours service, emergency service or warranty.

Bill Davis and his sister Wendy Higley have been doing business since 1999. Bill has been a mechanic with his father since 1975 and "goes to update schooling every year," but the training it names is for engines and cars for NYS Inspections. Engine and car training does not by itself cover an RV's appliances or slide-outs, and no RV certification or technician credential is named, so ask what training applies to your camper. Google rates it 4.1 stars from 55 reviews.

This is a good fit for an owner around Rome, Boonville or Camden who needs a camper or motor home part ordered, or a generator or small-engine repair, and who will call during store hours to confirm the RV work before planning a trip.
