Gerber RV

Gerber RV is a repair shop based in Hackensack, New Jersey, just outside NYC. It is a shop visit, not a mobile service: you bring the motor home or travel trailer to its 22,000-square-foot service center on Burlews Court.

It works on generators, appliances, suspension, hitch and flat tow setups, awnings, and powertrain and electronic diagnosis. On the appliance side it handles furnaces, stove ranges, AC units, refrigerators, microwaves, toilets, sinks and bathtubs, on brands including Atwood, Dometic, Norcold, Suburban, HWH, Onan and Ventline. Many of the owners it works with are from the NYC area and bring motor homes in for preventive maintenance or to troubleshoot a generator that quit right before a trip.

No trip fee, hourly rate or diagnostic fee is published, so ask about cost when you call. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 5:15pm.

Gerber RV is an authorized warranty center for Onan, Kohler, Generac and Power Tech generators, which matters if your generator is still under one of those warranties: the repair can be covered rather than billed out of pocket. It is also a New Jersey licensed emission repair facility and runs a full-service body and paint shop, so chassis damage and emissions work do not have to go to a separate shop. The business has been family owned and operated since 1973.
