Paul’s Auto & RV

Paul’s Auto & RV is an RV repair business serving northern Michigan. Its own note says "Paul’s No Longer Does Auto, Drivetrain or Engine Work," so it works on RVs only. It comes to you, and it also takes RVs into its shop, but no street address is given, so ask where the shop is before you drive over.

It works on appliances, awnings, batteries, plumbing, updates, and A/C repairs or replacements on rooftop or basement models only. It says "We Specialize in Oasis and Aqua-Hot Water Systems," and the RV type it names is "Any type of Trailer," with no motorhomes listed. Its service area lists Acme, Chums Croners, Elk Rapids, Fife Lake, Kingsley, Mesick, South Boardam and Traverse City. Its listed name also mentions LaBelle, Florida, but no Florida place appears in its service area, so ask before you plan a visit there.

No trip fee, hourly rate, hours, warranty or response time is published, so ask about the trip fee and the hourly rate when you call. The numbers are 231-263-7511 and 231-590-0836, and the business marks the second one "Call Or Text."

Its own wording calls its mechanics "certified" but names no certification, so ask which one. A named RV certification shows the tech has trained on RV systems, which matters more than a general shop title when a water system is down. No licensing, insurance or named technician is stated either. Google rates it 4.4 stars from 33 reviews, though it files the business under "Auto repair shop," a category that does not match the RV work it describes.

This is a good fit for an owner around Traverse City or Elk Rapids with a trailer that needs appliance, awning, plumbing or Oasis or Aqua-Hot work, who is comfortable asking for prices on the phone and confirming the Florida question first.
