Shamrock RV Service

Shamrock RV Service is a mobile RV inspection business based in Keeler Township, Michigan, near Sister Lakes. It comes to you, and in its own words, "In all cases, we travel to the RV." You do not bring the RV to a shop, and you do not even need to be present for the inspection.

Ken and Chris run it together, and they describe themselves as people who have been camping with their five kids since 1996. They work on the systems that matter most in a pre-purchase decision: air conditioning, refrigerator, furnace, stove, electrical, propane, life-safety detectors, generator, batteries, windows, tanks and plumbing, across motorhomes and towables including fifth wheels, travel trailers, pop-ups and teardrops. They also do black and gray tank cleaning, winterizing and de-winterizing, generator service and RV safety inspections.

Pricing is published by RV type: a Class A inspection runs $895 to $1495, a travel trailer $625 to $950, and a pop-up or teardrop $450 to $550. A 50-mile round trip is built into each inspection price, and beyond that they charge $1.00 per mile round trip. A standalone RV safety inspection is $200, winterizing is $150, and generator service is $175. Their service area runs about 150 miles from their home base near Dowagiac, Michigan, and they say they will travel further if needed.

Both are Certified RV Inspectors through the National RV Inspectors Association and registered RV Technicians through the National RV Training Academy, credentials that matter when you are about to hand over money for a used rig sight unseen.
