Powerhouse RV Center

Powerhouse RV Center is an RV and truck repair business based at 1407 General Mouton Avenue in Lafayette, Louisiana. It works both ways. You can bring the RV to its shop, or its mobile technicians can come to you for on-site diagnostics and emergency repairs.

It works on RVs, campers, coaches, travel trailers and 5th wheels, and it also repairs trucks, 18-wheelers and fleet vehicles. Its listed systems include HVAC service, electrical troubleshooting, engine diagnostics, chassis maintenance, suspension, steering, and routine oil changes. Tiffin is the brand it names, and it calls itself a "Tiffin-authorized service center." It serves Lafayette, Broussard, Youngsville, New Iberia, Scott and Carencro.

Its roadside line runs 24/7 for emergencies within a 100-mile radius of Broussard, and it will "drive up to 100 miles" to help you. Beyond that, it can travel further "for an additional fee." The shop keeps "standard service" hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is closed on weekends. It does not publish a trip fee, an hourly rate or a diagnostic fee, and it does not describe a warranty. When you call, ask for the trip fee, the hourly rate and the warranty before the rig is towed or the crew is dispatched.

The business has been in RV repair for "over 30 years," and it describes itself as "locally owned and operated." Factory authorization generally means the shop has trained on that maker's coaches, which helps when a Tiffin has a fault a general shop has not seen. Google rates it 4.2 stars from 52 reviews.

This is a good fit for an RV owner around Lafayette or Broussard who can get to the shop on a weekday, or who needs a mobile technician for a breakdown on the road.
