Recon Techs Springfield

Recon Techs Springfield is a detailing and reconditioning shop based in Springfield, Illinois, at 820 East Black Avenue. You bring the RV to its shop rather than having a tech come to you.

It works on Class A motorcoaches, fifth wheels and trailers, with services that include exterior detailing, oxidation removal, paint and gel coat revitalization, high performance paint coatings and wheel and rim polishing. The shop says it has "been trained in the special care it takes to keep RVs in like new condition" and that its staff knows how to maintain "the specialized exterior paint systems and graphics used in the RV industry," which matters for RV finishes since they are not treated the same as a car's paint.

No trip fee, hourly rate or flat prices for RV detailing work are published, so ask about cost and timing when you call. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, closed weekends.

Recon Techs Springfield is fully licensed and insured, and it tells callers all technicians are professionally trained and certified. Owner Derek Roberts has more than 20 years in automotive and detailing management and is a member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce. The shop also works on autos, boats and aircraft, so it has broader reconditioning experience beyond RVs alone.

Google rates it 4.3 stars from 46 reviews.

This is a good fit for an RV owner in the Springfield area who wants oxidation removed, faded gel coat brought back, or a protective coating applied, and who can get the rig to the shop rather than needing a mobile visit.
