Dunleavy's Road Service

Dunleavy's Road Service is a diesel truck repair shop based in Brookfield, Connecticut, and it also comes to you with roadside repair. You can bring your rig to its bays at 61 Vail Road, or call for a team to reach you out on the road around the Danbury, CT area.

It works on engines and transmissions, and it says plainly that it handles "a broad spectrum of light to heavy duty vehicles including RVs, generators, trucks, trailers, etc." For a motorhome with engine trouble or a transmission acting up on the highway, this matters because not every truck shop will touch an RV, and Dunleavy's says it will.

A detail worth knowing if you break down away from home: it says "we will repair your truck or trailer on the spot so you won't have to pay for towing." When it can fix the problem roadside, that saves you the cost and hassle of a tow to a shop. There is no hourly rate, trip fee or diagnostic fee published, so ask about those costs when you call.

The shop has been running since 1991, started by owner Doug Dunleavy, Sr., who worked in roadside assistance before opening his own operation to serve the Brookfield area. Hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, closed weekends. Google rates it 4.8 stars from 72 reviews.

This is a good fit for an RV owner with an engine or transmission problem, whether the rig is parked at home near Brookfield or broken down somewhere in the Danbury area and needs a hand on the spot.
