Sunbirdrv

Sunbirdrv is an RV repair shop based in Indio, California. You bring the RV to its facility rather than the other way around.

It works on rooftop AC units and absorption refrigerators, hitches, tow bars, base plates and auxiliary braking systems, Onan gas generators, and plumbing and electrical systems, including 12V batteries and fresh water lines, on motorhomes and travel trailers. It also runs a fully stocked parts and supplies store on site, so a tech can often pull the fitting or breaker needed and finish the job the same day instead of waiting on a parts order.

No hourly rate is published, so ask about that and about the diagnostic fee when you call. The shop advertises "a vanishing diagnosis fee" and says it runs "with no service charges," though it does not spell out dollar figures for either, so get the specifics over the phone before you commit to the work. It accepts most major extended warranty plans and aftermarket service contracts for coach repairs, appliances, air conditioning and electrical systems, and says it works directly with the provider on claims. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, and Saturday 9am to 1pm.

Technicians hold ASE certifications and go through yearly Onan gas generator factory recertifications, which matters if your generator is the thing keeping the fridge and AC running off grid. The shop has operated at the same Indio location since 1983. Google rates it 4.3 stars from 156 reviews.

This is a good fit for a traveler passing through the Coachella Valley with an AC, generator or electrical problem, or a local owner who wants one shop that stocks its own parts instead of waiting on an order.
