Horizon RV Inspection

Horizon RV Inspection is a mobile RV inspection service based in Encinitas, California. It comes to you, and asks that the RV be parked somewhere with full hookups, ideally at an RV park that offers them as part of the site rental, so the water, 20/30/50 amp power and sewage connections needed for a full inspection are already in place.

The inspection covers the RV's mechanical condition and structural integrity, the kind of check meant to catch what a walkthrough would miss before you sign for a used rig. The business asks that the refrigerator be running and properly cooled for at least 12 hours before the inspection, which lets them test it under real conditions rather than guess at a unit that has been sitting off.

No service area or pricing is published, so ask when you call how far they travel and what the inspection costs. The business is run by Kip and Tyler, a father and son team; Kip brings years of RVing experience and Tyler brings a mechanical perspective, a combination they built the business around. They hold NRVIA certification, the inspection standard worth asking about before you buy a used RV, since it means the inspector has been trained to a set process rather than just kicking tires.

Google rates the business 5 stars from 9 reviews.

This is a good fit for someone about to buy a used motorhome, fifth wheel or travel trailer who wants an independent, trained set of eyes on it before the deal closes, rather than relying on the seller's word or a casual look through the rig.
